Advanced guide to modelling on Chaturbate.
OBS
OBS Studio is free and open source software for video recording and live streaming, it is high performance real time video/audio capturing and mixing package available for Windows, Mac and Linux. You can create scenes made up of multiple sources including window captures, images, text, browser windows, webcams, capture cards and more.
You'll need your stream key to complete the configuration. Login to Chaturbate and go to the 'Broadcast yourself' section, click on 'View RTMP/OBS broadcast information and stream key', copy the broadcast token form the pop-up and save it for later.
Once installed run OBS Studio and allow it to run the auto configuration wizard. Keep 'Optimize for streaming' checked and click next. Keep the default base resolution and FPS then click next. Expand the 'Service' dropdown, click more and select Chaturbate. and enter the broadcast key you saved earlier. Keep 'Prefer hardware encoding' and 'Estimate bitrate with bandwidth test' checked and click next. The test will take a few minutes.
Depending on the specs of your computer, video card, webcam and internet connection you'll get a suggested configuration, for now select what it recommends.
OBS Studio is now running and ready to go, you're not streaming just yet though, we'll finish setting up the basics next.
In the sources window near the bottom, click on the + and select your video capture device, it should be labelled something like 'Video Capture Device (V4L2)', then click OK to create the source. A properties window should appear with the webcam display in it, change the resolution to match your webcam and keep the other default settings and click OK.
Click on the 'Settings' button in the bottom right of OBS and click on the video icon, make sure the base resolution and output resolution match and have an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 4:3. Click OK.
You should now see your broadcast window with your webcam source surrounded by a red box, you can drag the box to fill the screen
You may need to experiment with the webcam settings to see how it performs, open your broadcast page on Chaturbate and on OBS click the button labelled 'Start Streaming' in the bottom right. After a few seconds you should see your stream stats in the Chaturbate window. If you open another window and go to your room https://chaturbate.com/[YOUR_ROOM_NAME] you should see your stream. You don't need to keep this window open as it'll be the same as your OBS scene minus the red boxes.
Don't forget, you won't be broadcasting until you clikc 'Start Streaming' and you can stop it by clicking 'Stop Streaming' when you're done. OBS can be closed, it will remember your settings for next time.
